In other news, Reno Omokri has turned to social media to criticize the Islamic police, also known as Hisbah, in Kano state for their apparent “hypocrisy.”

Hisbah has been making waves on the internet on multiple occasions for the arrests and measures they have taken since they were commissioned in the state. Last year, the Islamic police in Kano made headlines when they arrested a barber for giving a customer a “Haram” haircut.

The former presidential aide shared a photo of musician Mayokun with his haircut on his Instagram page and inquired why the Hisbah police did not arrest him.

”Hypocrisy is when Kano Hisbah cuts off the un-Islamic haircut of the poor, yet leave the un-Islamic haircuts of those who attended Buhari’s son’s wedding. Or crucify Rahama Sadau over her dress, yet are pacified over the stylish dresses of the bride and her guests”

He added;

What is the matter with some of you? Do you think I don’t know who that is? The fellow whose hair was forcefully cut off was not an indigene of Kano. He was from Benue. He is not even a Muslim. My post is drawing attention to the uneven treatment meted out on people by the Hisbah because of their status in life. The Hisbah in Kano operate against anybody who is poor, irrespective of their ethnicity or religion. Sometimes, I actually think Nigerians deserve their predicament.
