Amaal Mallik is an award-winning Indian music composer, singer, producer, and director who came to prominence for composing songs for M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story. He is also known for composing three songs for Salman Khan’s Jai Ho. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director and IIFA Awards.

Early Life & Education

Amaal Mallik was born on June 16, 1990, in Mumbai, India, to parents Daboo Mallik and Jyoti Mallik. His father, Daboo was a music director. He is the eldest child in a family of three children. He has two siblings, one of them is Armaan Mallik, a singer and record producer.

He attended Jamnabai Narsee School and obtained a Bachelor of commerce from N.M. College in Mumbai.

Career

Amaal began doing music at the age of 8 and learned to play the Piano. He also trained in Indian classical music informally under the tutelage of his grandfather Sardar Mallik.

He went on to assist music composer and background scorer Amar Mohile for the soundtrack of Sarkar and Shoutout at Lokhandwala.

He produced background scores for Sandeep Chowta and Salim-Sulaiman for films like Heorine, Youngistaan, and Rowdy Rathore.

He came through as a music composer in 2014, and composed three songs for Salman Khan’s film Jhai Ho and composed two songs for Roy in 2015.
